AKC Museum of the Dog, New York
American Kennel Club decided to relocate its Museum of the Dog from Missouri to New York City.
Gensler's New York office provided all-inclusive services for AKC and designed not only the interiors for the museum and AKC HQ but also the new brand and identity for the Museum of the Dog. I've been a part of the Brand team, which included Strategy, Brand, and DXD departments.
The main goal for all of us was not just to relocate the museum but to create a totally new experience for visitors with the usage of latest technologies. I've been leading the part of the team to create the Mobile App for the museum. The main goal for us was to allow all groups of visitors to get more engaged with the arts and installations inside the museum. One of the most important groups of visitors for AKC is kids, and we wanted to make their experience in the museum more fun.
We came with the concept of Mobile App with augmented reality functionality to allow all users to get more details about artworks and installations, artists, breeds they can see there through cameras of their smartphones. For kids, we created the Scavenger Hunt quest in the app. We installed 10 beacons next to some of the artworks, so kids should find all 10 of them, answer the questions, and get a prize in the end! Also, we created a virtual puppy Artie who is leading kids through the whole quest, and there are 2 AR-markers on the floor in the museum where kids can take a photo with Artie, who is doing some trick.
As a part of the working process, we had two user testing sessions to check our hypothesizes about UX and UI. It was a very important experience for us because we had to make sure that all the kind will feel comfortable with the app and won't ask their parent to help them on every step of the quest. Based on the results of the user tests, we redesigned a lot of UI elements, and then tested it again.

Currently, we have more than 6000+ installs of the app, great feedback from the museum staff, and a product map for the upcoming new features and updates.
